Eight suspects yield P145,000 ‘shabu,’ gun in Southern Luzon
LUCENA CITY — Eight drug suspects who yielded more than P145,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm have been arrested during separate buy-bust operations in the provinces of Batangas, Cavite, and Rizal.
In a report, the Police Regional Office 4A said the Batangas City drug enforcement unit collared Briener Salazar and Russel Salazar, whose personal relationship was not specified, in Barangay Cuta at 12:05 a.m. on Thursday.
The suspects, both classified as “HVI” or high-value individuals in the local drug scene, yielded three sachets of shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P68,000.
In Dasmariñas City, Cavite, police officers busted alleged marijuana peddlers Joshua Ramos and Renalyn Bautista in Barangay Paliparan 3 at 8:05 p.m. on Wednesday.
The suspects, also HVIs, were found with 130 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P19,500 and an undocumented caliber .45 pistol loaded with three bullets.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Rizal province, police officers in Binangonan town nabbed Rabie Nicolas and Jessalyn Salonga, both listed drug pushers in the locality, in Barangay Libis around 2:20 p.m. also on Wednesday.

Earlier, anti-illegal drug operatives in San Mateo town likewise busted Rowel Fronda and Jovic Argulla, in Barangay Banaba at 7:34 a.m.
Authorities confiscated P40,434 worth of shabu from the duo, both listed on the police drug watch list.
All suspects were detained and are facing corresponding criminal charges, police said.
