LUCENA CITY — Anti-narcotics police arrested a “high-value” female drug trafficker and seized P2.5 million worth of cocaine in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, Dec. 14, in this city.
The Region 4A police said in a report Thursday that Quezon police drug enforcement unit, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents and local cops collared at 9:40 a.m. Jasmin Dagohoy in Barangay Ibabang Dupay.
The operatives found the suspect in alleged possession of one sachet and four plastic bags of cocaine weighing 489 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P2,591,700.
The police said the confiscated illegal drugs were worth P7,775,100 in the street market.
This is the second cocaine bust in the province this week.
On Tuesday night, anti-illegal drugs operatives also seized cocaine with a DDB value of P316,834 in a buy-bust operation in Real town.
In 2018 and 2019, Quezon police confiscated several kilos of high-grade cocaine found by coastal residents along the shore of Lamon Bay in the Pacific Ocean.
Another group of Quezon fishermen recovered in the area a “sophisticated, high-tech” tracking device used in monitoring drug shipments. INQ
