SPD cops confiscate ₱26-M worth of shabu in Taguig, Las Piñas
MANILA, Philippines — More than P26 million worth of crystal meth or shabu were seized in separate police operations in Taguig and Las Piñas City, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Wednesday.
In Taguig, two suspects and ₱20.4 million worth of shabu weighing three kilograms were confiscated in an operation in Pendatun Street corner Old Housing Street in Barangay Maharlika on Tuesday night.
Arrested were Basser Utto, 32; and Normina Datuan, 25, police said.
The suspects were arrested after Taguig City Police flagged their vehicle for reckless driving.
“[T]hey (authorities) flagged down one metallic blue Toyota Vios … for driving recklessly. Incidentally, lawmen saw partially opened green Chinese tea bags containing medium-sized plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance,” the SPD said in a statement.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, ₱6.8 million shabu weighing about a kilogram were also seized from a suspect in Bayabas Street, BF International Village in Las Piñas City on Tuesday afternoon. The suspect was identified as Jayson Lucas, 37, and is also listed as a high-value individual.
