MANILA, Philippines — As a sideline meeting during the Asean-EU Summit, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Senator Mark Villar, along with the Philippine delegation, met with the airport executives of Brussels, Belgium.
The group discussed the possibility of having a direct flight from Manila to Brussels and vice versa.
“Now that the air transport industry is booming again, it would be beneficial for us to have a Manila to Brussels direct flight. This will boost our economy through the tourism industry” Villar said.

Regularly, Manila to Brussels would have long layovers in various countries, which could easily be a 20- to 24-hour journey. But according to Philippine Airlines President and CEO Capt. Stanley Ng, it would only take about 13 to 14 hours to travel directly from Manila to Brussels.
“Direct flights from Manila to Brussels would help us a lot, especially since both cities can be transport hubs, Manila being close to other Asian countries and Brussels being a train away from major cities in Europe like Paris and the Netherlands,” Villar said
Marcos also agreed on the possibility of having a Manila-Brussels direct flight, citing that it would help our economic recovery program and pave the way for more OFWs to come home.
