MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has tapped former Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Teofilo Guadiz III to lead the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) said.

According to OPS, Marcos’ appointment placing Guadiz as LTFRB chairperson was signed last December 9.  Guadiz then took his oath before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

“Pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby appointed chairman, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Department of Transportation,” Guadiz’s appointment paper said.

Guadiz was recently replaced at LTO by Jay Art Tugade, the youngest son of former Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, who served under Marcos’ predecessor, former president Rodrigo Duterte.
