26 alleged NPA supporters yield in Palawan town

The police said in a belated report Wednesday that two former NPA memberssurrendered in Puerto Princesa City on October 18.

CITY OF CALAPAN — Twenty-six alleged supporters of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered on Tuesday in Sofronio Española town, Palawan province, the police reported on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The Red supporters surrendered about 12:30 p.m. at the municipal gymnasium in Barangay Pulot Center, according to the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan (Mimaropa) police office.

Police, with the support of former rebel group Kapatiran ng mga Dating Rebelde, facilitated the “voluntary surrender and mass withdrawal of support of 26 CTG (communist terrorist group) supporters,” said the report.
