Two men toss shabu into city jail
Police arrested two men suspected of selling drugs to inmates at the Cebu City Jail in barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.
Jail guards saw the men outside throwing packs of suspected drugs into the jail compound at 3 p.m. last Thursday.
After jail warden Jhonson Calub alerted the police, operatives of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB), frisked bystanders and habal-habal drivers outside.
Police said a .38 revolver and a sachet with white powder was found in the bag of Jessie Mahusay, 39, of barangay Pahina Central.
A sachet was also found in the possession of Louie Anam, 27, of barangay Kalunasan. The suspects said the drugs were planted by the police.
Police said Mahusay would receive payment through visitors of the inmates who served as his customers.
Chief Insp. Romeo Sntander, CIB chief, said a drug lord in Cebu City whom the police has been monitoring for years is supplying Mahusay.
