Farmer survives gun attack in Occidental Mindoro town
CITY OF CALAPAN — A 31-year-old farmer was wounded after an armed man shot him on Sunday in Magsaysay town, Occidental Mindoro province.
Staff Sergeant Jillson Insigne, the case investigator, said Christopher Balbino suffered a bullet wound on his right shoulder.
An initial investigation showed that alias “Tatik Sanggalang” approached Balbino and informed him that someone wanted to talk to him.
But Balbino refused to go with the suspect and tried to leave, prompting the gunman to shoot him with an improvised shotgun.
A relative brought Balbino to a hospital while the suspect fled.
