‘High-value’ drug pusher busted in Rizal

'High-value' drug pusher busted in Rizal

LUCENA CITY – A “high-value” drug trader was arrested but his associate escaped in a buy-bust operation in San Mateo town in Rizal province on Saturday night (December 10).

The Region 4A police in a report Sunday, December 11, said police nabbed Lauro Anzures in a sting operation in Barangay (village) Sta. Ana around 9:52 p.m.

However, another target, Roberto Peñaflor, managed to elude arrest and escape.

The police found Anzures in possession of 11 sachets of shabu (crystal meth) weighing 37.53 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P255,204.

Police tagged the suspects as both included on the police drug watch list as “HVI” or high-value individuals on the local drug scene.

Anzures was detained and is facing formal complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The police launched a manhunt to arrest Peñaflor.
