DMW shuts down unlicensed firm offering jobs in Poland

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Wednesday shut down an unlicensed overseas recruitment agency that was charging applicants processing fees as much as P122,000 for jobs in Poland.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Wednesday shut down an unlicensed overseas recruitment agency that was charging applicants processing fees as much as P122,000 for jobs in Poland.

DMW Secretary Susan Ople identified the agency as IDPLumen Travel Consultancy Services, which was not licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

The firm’s headquarters in San Fernando, Pampanga, and its offices in Santiago City, Isabela and Tabuk City, Kalinga, were closed simultaneously by the Anti-Illegal Recruitment Branch of the POEA. —JACOB LAZARO
