Tollways offer freebies

/ 12:34 AM April 01, 2012

Tollway agencies are stepping up customer service this Lenten season with free treats in gas stations  and a Facebook page for traffic advisories during the Holy Week exodus.

Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) environment safety and health manager Jeffrey Ang said that aside from having a Holy Week Express Lane on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), the MNTC and Tollways Management Corp. will launch the motorist assistance program “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko.”

Twelve service gas stations on NLEx, SCTEx and Subic Freeport Expressway will provide freebies to motorists ranging from refreshments, WiFi use, mechanic diagnostics and first-aid services, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Toll Regulatory Board Executive Director Edmund Reyes Jr. said motorists could also check traffic situations at tollways via https://www. facebook.com/trb.safe and https://www.twitter.com/trbsafe, which he said would provide “real-time [traffic] information on major expressways” in the greater Metro Manila area.
