INQUIRER.net, STI ink partnership to provide more opportunities to students
INQUIRER.net, the country’s leading online news site, and STI College signed a memorandum of agreement on Tuesday, Dec. 6, to provide students with internship and career opportunities with INQUIRER.net.
Under the agreement, INQUIRER.net will regularly provide training and career opportunities to STI students and alumni through postings and internship programs.
INQUIRER.net COO Imelda Alcantara welcomed the partnership, saying this is the start of more opportunities to involve students in the dynamic landscape of digital journalism and empower them to better participate in the public sphere.
“We welcome this partnership with STI because we believe that this will open opportunities for other new projects. While this will initially involve providing a place for internship for students and job opportunities for graduates, there are initiatives that both Inquirer.net and STI can explore to involve students in citizen journalism and help them participate in meaningful public discourse,” she added.
For STI, the partnership with INQUIRER.net brings more possibilities to equip and prepare students as they transition from school to work, according to STI ESG President Peter Fernandez.
