SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — After maintaining a downward trend in virus spread last month, this province began seeing its COVID-19 positivity rate shoot up again early this month.
According to OCTA Research, the province’s virus positivity rate increased from 6.1 percent on November 26 to 10.7 percent on December 3.
The independent pandemic monitor explained that the COVID-19 positivity rate is the percentage of tests that turn out positive.
Zambales is among the provinces in Central Luzon where the positivity rate increased in the past week. The others are Bataan, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga.
As of Sunday, Zambales’ active cases rose to 14 after recording six more cases. It also logged a new COVID-19 fatality, local data showed. INQ
