Oil companies raise LPG prices again

For the second time, oil companies raised the retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products for December. Petron and Phoenix LPG Philippines announced in separate advisories their LPG prices climbed by P2.25 per kilogram. Solane’s price hike was slightly higher at P2.27 per kg. Meanwhile, Petron and Phoenix LPG Philippines announced AutoLPG prices rose by P1.26 and P1.25 per liter, respectively. Last month, firms implemented hefty price increases of P3.50 to P3.55 per kg for LPG products and P1.95 to P1.96 per li for AutoLPG products. As of Oct. 1, household LPG in Metro Manila is estimated to range from P786.95 to P971.95 per 11-kg cylinder, based on the Department of Energy’s monitoring as of October. —JORDEENE B. LAGARE
