Three security guards survived after they were shot by still unidentified gunmen in Sariaya town in Quezon province on Saturday night (Nov. 12).

LUCENA CITY — Two women were shot dead on Tuesday night by unidentified assailants in Tiaong town in Quezon province.

The Quezon police, in a report Wednesday, Nov. 30, identified the victims as Jessica Tambado, 28; and Lani Caya, 26; both with live-in partners and residents of Barangay Talisay in the locality.

The police said the victims were inside Tambado’s house at 10:40 p.m. when two males armed with handguns barged in and repeatedly shot the two women.

The men fled aboard a vehicle and left their targets dead.

Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the killers.

The investigators are eyeing a “love triangle/jealousy” as the possible motive behind the shooting incident.

On Monday, a 45-year-old man, who was resting in his house, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Tiaong.

The Quezon police reported on Tuesday, Nov. 29, that Reynante Aquino was resting on a bamboo chair in his house in Barangay Cabay at 6:10 p.m. when two assailants appeared and repeatedly shot him.

The gunmen fled on foot and left their victim dead on the spot from fatal gunshot wounds on his head and left arm.

Investigators recovered 10 empty bullet shells from a caliber .45 and 9mm pistols at the crime scene.

Investigation was ongoing.
