Fire hits residential village in Malabon City

MANILA, Philippines—A fire of still unknown origin gutted a residential area in Malabon City before it was put out by firefighters, a city fire official said Friday.

Fire Officer 3 Manuel Gabriele said the blaze that started at 5:25 p.m. along Maria Clara Street, Barangay (village) Acacia in Malabon City reached second alarm. It was put out at 6:40 p.m.

He said no immediate reports of injuries and casualties reached their office as of posting time.

The cause of fire, its origin and the damage cost have yet to be determined, he said.
