3 nabbed for stealing gasoline in Nueva Vizcaya

BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya — Police arrested on Tuesday three persons, including two gasoline station workers, for stealing almost P16,000 worth gasoline in Bambang town in Nueva Vizcaya province.

Police said on Wednesday, Nov. 23, that they collared Jerry Perez, 45, and Villamor Gallo, 48, both gasoline station workers of Saty’s gas compound, and Doren Ley De Guzman-Bernardino, 25, of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, in Barangay Macate.

The police report said gasoline station owner Jennifer Okamoto made a surprise visit to the compound and caught her two workers selling to Bernardino P15,670 worth of gasoline hidden at the top load of a dump truck.

The arrested men, both oil tanker workers, have shown remorse before the police, while Bernardino claimed she did not know about the illegal source of the gasoline.

The three people were placed under temporary police custody.

Perez and Gallo were indicted for qualified theft, while Bernardino was charged with violating the anti-fencing law.
