MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) registered 1,153 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, with active cases slightly down to 18,467.

With this, the country’s COVID-19 caseload is now at 4,022,127 nationwide, with 3,939,219 recoveries and 64,441 deaths.

The new infections are slightly below the average daily infections recorded from Nov. 7 to 13 at 1,296, but is above the number of recorded cases on Wednesday which was 810.

The tracker also showed that Metro Manila continues to lead the list of regions with the most number of cases in the past two weeks with 2,996 cases, followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) at second with 1,765 infections, and the Western Visayas with 1,377.

In terms of individual areas with the most cases, Quezon City leads with 648 infections, followed by Cavite with 640 and Iloilo with 601.

Meanwhile, 12,071 tests were conducted on Wednesday which will reflect the number of cases recorded on Friday.
