PH logs 1,071 new COVID infections; active tally at 19,940

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported an additional 1,071 new infections of COVID-19, bringing active cases to 19,940.
With this, the country’s COVID-19 caseload is now at 4,020,240 nationwide, with 3,935,880 recoveries and 64,420 deaths.
These new infections are slightly lower than the average daily infections recorded from Nov. 7 to 13 at 1,296.
According to the tracker, Metro Manila continues to lead the list of regions with the most cases in the past two weeks with 2,876 cases, followed by Calabarzon at second with 1,736 infections, and Western Visayas with 1,421.
In terms of individual areas with the most cases, Quezon City leads with 657 infections, followed by Cavite with 603 and Davao Del Sur with 602.
Meanwhile, 12,400 tests were conducted on Monday which will reflect the number of cases recorded on Wednesday.
