MANILA, Philippines — Rain is expected over some parts of the country on Wednesday due to the shear line and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Dito sa Luzon asahan ay generally maaliwalas ang panahon maliban na lang sa Bicol region dahil sa posibleng epekto ng shear line kaya maaasahan natin ang maulap na kalangitan na may kalat kalat na pagulan dito sa Legaspi at ibang bahagi ng Bicol Region,” said Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres.
(Here in Luzon, expect the weather to be generally clear except for the Bicol region due to the possible effect of the shear line so we can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain here in Legaspi and other parts of the Bicol Region.)
Meanwhile, the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies and rain over Samar, Leyte, Bohol, Cebu and Surigao Provinces.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have fairer weather with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms.
Torres also said that no storms or low pressure areas are currently being monitored by Pagasa within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
No gale warning is also currently raised in any parts of the country’s seaboards, but moderate to rough seas are expected over Northern Luzon, as well as the Eastern Coast of Luzon and Visayas.
