3 workers hurt after steel trusses of gov’t project collapses in Quezon province

LUCENA CITY — Three workers were injured after the steel trusses of a government infrastructure project in Lopez town in Quezon province collapsed Tuesday morning.

Lopez police reported that Benedict Aquitania was welding at 9:10 a.m. one of the steel trusses on the ongoing Lopez National Comprehensive High School Convention Center project in Barangay Magsaysay.

Suddenly, the steel trusses collapsed, causing Aquitania to fall to the ground. The falling steel hit workers Rosen Fulgencio and Romeo Talento.

FEATURED STORIES

The three construction workers suffered injuries, and were taken to Magsaysay District Hospital for treatment.

The police are conducting further investigation.
