Albay suspends classes due to heavy rains

LEGAZPI CITY — The local government of Albay on Tuesday, November 15, suspended classes at all levels due to heavy rains brought by the northeast monsoon and the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

In an advisory, Albay Governor Noel Rosal said classes in private and public schools were suspended as a precautionary measure due to possible river swelling and localized flooding caused by continuous heavy rains.

In its 6 a.m. rainfall advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Southern Luzon said moderate to heavy rains were experienced in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon and Northern Samar.

Pagasa advised the local disaster agencies to monitor the weather condition.
