3 security guards survive shooting in Quezon

Three security guards survived after they were shot by still unidentified gunmen in Sariaya town in Quezon province on Saturday night (Nov. 12).

LUCENA CITY – Three security guards survived after they were shot by still unidentified gunmen in Sariaya town in Quezon province on Saturday night (Nov. 12).

The Quezon police, in a report Sunday, Nov. 13, said the assailants aboard a white van without a plate number suddenly appeared around 10 p.m. in Sitio (sub-village) Dalampasigan in Barangay (village) Guis-Guis Talon and repeatedly fired at Muslimin Lim, Norodin Ebrahim and Esmael Panalandang, all security guards assigned to watch over a parcel of land in the area.

Ebrahim managed to shoot back at their attackers, the report said.

The gunmen fled after the shooting.

The three guards sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital in the town center. The victims remained confined as of Sunday afternoon for further treatment.

Investigators recovered at the crime scene 22 spent shells from 5.56 rifle, four bullet casings from caliber .45 pistol, two spent shells from caliber .9mm pistol and a bullet shell from a shotgun.

The police are conducting further investigations to unmask the shooters and establish their motives.
