MANILA, Philippines — While fair weather is expected in most parts of the country on Sunday, some parts will still experience cloudy skies and rain due to the easterlies and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Ngayong umaga pa lamang malaki na ang tiyansa ng pagulan dito sa malaking bahagi ng Bicol Region as well as Quezon Province, bahagyang epekto po ito ng easterlies habang sa natitirang bahagi ng Luzon, kabilang ang Metro Manila generally maaraw sa umaga hanggang sa tanghali,” said Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja in a weather forecast.

Apart from Metro Manila, Estareja also said that generally fair weather will continue to prevail over Palawan, Tuguegarao and Laoag, while cloudy skies will prevail over Eastern Luzon, specifically, Bicol Region, Marinduque, Rombol, Oriental Mindoro, and Calabarzon, as well as Aurora and Cagayan Valley.

“Meron na ring mga localized thunderstorms na walang kinalaman sa bagyo o low pressure area,” said Estareja.
