MANILA, Philippines — The reopening of Manila Zoo will be moved to November 21, capital city mayor Honey Lacuña said in her social media address on Friday.
Lacuna said this was done to give way for the final preparations.
“Because of the request of stall owners so they could prepare better for the reopening of Manila Zoo, we will postpone the reopening of Manila Zoo from November 15 to November 21,” Lacuna said in Filipino.
Manila Zoo will be operating from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a cut off for entry of guests at 6 p.m. daily.
The admission fees are as follow:
- Adult and child: ₱150 for Manilans and ₱300 for non-residents
- Students: ₱100 for Manilans and ₱200 for non residents
- Senior Citizens and PWD – 20 percent discount on prescribed fees
Children 2 years old and below may enter for free.
Online registration and purchasing of tickets will be available starting November 20, 2022 via manilazoo.ph.
Manila Zoo had its first soft opening on December 30.
The zoo was established in July 1959 and the ₱1.74 billion-worth rehabilitation of the five-hectare property began during the term of former mayor Isko Moreno.
