Pagasa: Cloudy with rain showers on Thursday in Vis-Min, parts of Luzon
MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and scattered rains will prevail in the Visayas, Mindanao and parts of Luzon on Thursday due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
(The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain, thunder and lightning to the Visayas and Mindanao, parts of Palawan, and parts of the Bicol region, particularly Albay, Sorsogon and Masbate).
Villamil explained that the ITCZ is where the winds from the northern and southern hemisphere meet.
Meanwhile, the shear line, defined as the area where warm and cold winds meet, is also forecast to cause rain and thunderstorms in Batanes, said Pagasa.
