LUCENA CITY — A 49-year-old farmer died Wednesday in a hit-and-run incident in Macalelon town in Quezon province.
Quezon police reported that Abel Maquinto was walking home from attending a friend’s wake when a passing vehicle hit him in Barangay Olongtao Ibaba.
Maquinto suffered fatal injuries and was found dead at 2:20 a.m. by a passing villager.
Investigators said that a tricycle hit the victim after markings and traces of the three-wheeled vehicle were left visible at the place of the incident.
Investigation is ongoing to identify the driver.
