Drunken man critical in Quezon hit-and-run

LUCENA CITY — A drunken pedestrian was in critical condition after a vehicle hit him early Monday along the Maharlika Highway in Gumaca, Quezon.

The Quezon police reported that a vehicle bumped Rene Imperial, 54, while on his way home at 12:40 a.m. from a drinking spree in Barangay Rosario.

The vehicle sped off.

Rescuers brought Imperial to Gumaca District Hospital, but was transferred to Quezon Medical Center in his city due to his serious condition.
