2 Cafgu members slain in Masbate shooting

LEGAZPI CITY — Two members of the military’s Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) were killed Monday, Nov. 7, in Pio V. Corpus town in Masbate province.
Lieutenant Colonel Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the victims were Jobert Abaja and Jyvee Amandorom, both assigned at the Cafgu Active Auxiliary Patrol Base in Barangay Manlot-ot in Placer town.
Calubaquib said while traveling onboard a motorcycle from their patrol base, unidentified men shot the two at 9:50 a.m. upon entering Barangay Lampuyang.
The police conducted a hot pursuit operation to identify and arrest the suspects.
The incident is also under investigation.
