2 fishpond workers die after touching live wire in Batangas

An unidentified man, believed to be a "salvage" or summary execution victim, was found in Tanauan City in Batangas province on Wednesday, Oct. 19, police said.
LUCENA CITY — Two fishpond workers died after they touched a live wire on Monday in Lemery town in Batangas province.

The Batangas police said in a report Tuesday, Nov. 8, that Renante Batchar and Mark Anthony Bethel, were cleaning a fishpond in Barangay Nonong Casto at around 4 p.m. when they touched a live wire from a submersible water pump.

The two suffered injuries from the jolt of electricity and were taken to Batangas Provincial Hospital in the town center, but they both died on the way.

The police are conducting further investigation.
