2 motorbike rides perish in Quezon highway collision

LUCENA CITY – Two motorcycle riders died on Friday night after they were hit by a passenger van along the Maharlika Highway in Pagbilao, Quezon.

The Quezon police on Saturday reported that Glenn Andangan was driving his motorcycle with a still unidentified male passenger around 11:15 p.m. when their vehicle was hit by the van driven by John Ryan Tiñana in a section of the highway in Barangay (village) Ibabang Palsabangon.

An initial investigation showed that the van overtook another vehicle, causing a head-on collision with the motorcycle.

FEATURED STORIES

Both riders sustained fatal injuries and Andangan died on the spot. The back-rider expired en route to Quezon Medical Center.

The report said Andangan was not wearing a crash helmet.

Tiñana is under police custody.
