MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed over 40,000 police personnel nationwide for Undas this Tuesday.
PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo told INQUIRER.net in a text message that a total of 40,762 police personnel are deployed in cemeteries and other areas nationwide to ensure the orderly celebration of the holiday.
In another statement, PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin said that the agency also prepared 5,784 Police Assistance Desks in some 4,769 public cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria nationwide.
The PNP nevertheless managed to deploy despite being preoccupied with the post-disaster operation in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Paeng, according to Azurin.
“The PNP will stay focused to ensure order and security on this national holiday even as we remain preoccupied with post-disaster response operations,” Azurin said.
