MANILA, Philippines – Numerous domestic flights were canceled on Monday,, October 31, 2022 after Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) whipped many parts of the country and disrupted normal airport operations.

Cebu Pacific Air announced Sunday night that the following Monday flights are called off:

Cebu Pacific said passengers affected by the cancellation of flights were informed about the development and the options available to them, which they can access through the airlines’ website. 

Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines listed the following canceled flights:

  • Z2 0430 Manila – Puerto Princesa⁣
  • Z2 0431 Puerto Princesa – Manila⁣
  • Z2 0715 Manila – Kalibo⁣
  • Z2 716 Kalibo – Manila⁣
  • Z2 0613 Manila – Davao⁣
  • Z2 0614 Davao – Manila⁣
  • Z2 0327 Manila – Tacloban⁣
  • Z2 0328 Tacloban – Manila⁣
  • Z2 0777 Manila – Cebu⁣
  • Z2 0778 Cebu – Manila⁣
  • Z2 0313 Manila – Iloilo⁣
  • Z2 0314 Iloilo – Manila⁣
  • Z2 0605 Manila – Bacolod⁣
  • Z2 0606 Bacolod – Manila⁣
  • Z2 0354 Manila – Tagbilaran⁣
  • Z2 0355 Tagbilaran – Manila⁣

AirAsia said that affected passengers may opt to move their flight within 30 days from the original departure date, have the value of their flight booking credited for future travels with the airline or request for a refund. 

The Manila International Airport Authority earlier said at least 43,151 travelers were affected by flight cancellations amid the onslaught of Paeng. 

In its 5 a.m. forecast on Monday, the state weather bureau said Paeng continues to trigger strong winds and rains over parts of the country but it is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by afternoon or evening.
