MANILA, Philippines – Damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) to the agriculture sector in the Soccskasargen region alone in Mindanao has been pegged at over P54 million, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The NDRRMC said that damage to agriculture in the Soccsksargen region was estimated at P54,588,740.
Meantime, 194 areas affected by Paeng remain flooded, mostly in Western Visayas (98) ad the Bicol region (77).
In terms of damage to infrastructure, 57 roads and 12 bridges are not passable, said the NDRRMC.
According to the NDRRMC, a majority of damaged roads are in the Bicol region and Western Visayas as well.
Water supply is still out in two areas, one in Western Visayas and another in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, while power supply has been interrupted in nine areas.
