CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao — Police personnel of Kapatagan town in Lanao del Sur on Wednesday intercepted at a checkpoint a vehicle allegedly stolen in Davao City and arrested its driver.
Lt. Chervil Ferenal, Kapatagan police chief, in his report to Colonel Jibin Bongcayao, Lanao del Sur police director, said that their police station received an alert from the Regional Highway Patrol Unit of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (RHPU-BARMM) about a stolen vehicle in Davao City that was last seen heading for Lanao del Sur.
Ferenal said the driver failed to present legal documents that would prove he owned the car when he was flagged down at 9 a.m. in Barangay Daguan, Kapatagan.
Bongcayao said Jaime Baria Olarte, the driver of the recovered car, is now detained at the Kapatagan police station.
Bongcayao said the dark brown Toyota Vios (LAH 7231) is registered in the name of Susan Montero, a resident of Ecoland subdivision in Davao City.
