Classes, work suspended in some areas due to earthquake, persistent rain

MANILA, Philippines — Classes and work on Wednesday were suspended in some areas due to the magnitude 6.4 earthquake in Abra, as well as persistent rain in other parts of Luzon.
The following provinces suspended classes and work after a 6.4 quake was recorded in Abra on Tuesday night, 10:59 p.m.

Abra – All levels (public and private), work in government offices

Ilocos Norte – All levels (public and private), work in government offices

Ilocos Sur – All levels (public and private), work in both public and private offices
Each of the provincial governments order also said that it suspended classes and work to conduct inspection and assessment of buildings and structures in their areas.
Meanwhile, the following local government units also suspended classes due to the forecast rain of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration in parts of Luzon caused by the shear line and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan.”
