Tarlac has highest COVID-19 positivity rate in PH

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Tarlac province has the highest positivity rate in the country, according to independent research group Octa, citing Department of Health data.

DOH data showed Tarlac registered 24 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, Oct. 24.

Octa Research said Tarlac is among the seven provinces in the country with an increased COVID-19 positivity rate.

He said Tarlac’s positivity rate went up to 50.6 percent as of Oct. 22 compared with 41.6 percent on Oct. 15.

Octa said the second province with the highest COVID-19 positivity rate was Camarines Sur (35.7 percent), and the third was Rizal province (21.1 percent).

In its latest COVID-19 update, the DOH said Tarlac has 422 active cases.

DOH records show that Tarlac has registered 32,828 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of these, 31,547 have recovered, while 859 have died.
