MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned the foreign owner and the sports car’s driver that was photographed passing through the Edsa Bus Lane.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Teofilo Guadiz III said Friday that they had issued a show cause order against the sports car owner and the driver, whose names remain undisclosed as of this writing, asking them to appear before the agency at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 24, because they “have a lot of explaining to do.”
Guadiz said the two must submit a written explanation as to why they should not get charged with an administrative case for disregarding traffic signs. The driver was also asked to explain why his license must not be suspended or revoked due to violations.

The LTO official added that the agency “does not and will not condone this wanton disregard for traffic laws.”
“We will not tolerate this kind of intrusion into road lanes,” he said.
The Edsa Bus Lane is for the exclusive use of public buses, ambulances, and government vehicles in emergencies.
