LIST: Class suspensions on Thursday due to Tropical Depression Obet

MANILA, Philippines – Several local government units (LGUs) suspended classes in selected public and private schools on Thursday, October 20, due to inclement weather and the threat of Tropical Depression Obet.

Despite being outside the Philippine area of responsibility, Typhoon Neneng (international name: Nesat) still prompted cancellation of classes in Cagayan Valley due to its effects and damage, said the Philippine Information Agency Region 2.

Below is the list of areas with suspended classes:

SELECT LEVELS

  • Apayao (Preschool to senior high school)

Cagayan Valley

  • Gonzaga (Public schools, preschool to senior high school)
  • Santa Ana (Public schools, preschool to senior high school)

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has hoisted Signal No. 1 over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana and Gonzaga) due to Tropical Depression Obet.
