LUCENA CITY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in Quezon province on Sunday breached the 100-mark again.
The latest data from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) showed that Quezon has four new COVID-19 cases, bringing the number of active infections to 103.
From 94 active cases at the start of the month, the number rose to 97 on Oct. 7; 98 on Oct. 8; 101 on Oct. 9; and 103 on Oct. 10.
It dropped to 88 on Oct. 11 and rose back again to 103 on Oct. 16.
The infected patients were admitted to several hospitals, while some were under home quarantine.
Lucena topped the list with 15 patients, followed by Tayabas with 13 and Sariaya and Candelaria with nine each.
On June 3, only this city had active COVID-19 cases, with two recorded infected residents.
The IPHO said they recorded three COVID-19 fatalities this month, four in September, and 17 in August. INQ
