MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental on Friday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs detected the quake at 2:16 a.m. and traced its epicenter 205 kilometers southeast of Balut Island in Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The tectonic earthquake’s depth of focus was 40 kilometers.
State seismologists reported no intensities. No aftershocks and damage are expected, Phivolcs said.
