SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The weekly COVID-19 positivity rate in this province rose by more than 13 percent as the number of cases continued to grow, according to independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research on Thursday.
Citing data from the Department of Health, OCTA Research said the positivity rate in the province has already reached 33.6 percent on October 11, up from the 20. 4 percent registered on October 8.
The positivity rate refers to the percentage of tests turning out positive.
Zambales is among the provinces that have continued to post a high positivity rate in the past weeks.
OCTA Research observed that the COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region was decreasing, but it was increasing in several provinces.
As of Wednesday, October 12, active COVID-19 cases in Zambales stood at 32 after recording eight new infections.
Since 2020, it has registered 12,453 cases with 11,702 recoveries and 719 deaths.
