MANILA, Philippines — Voter registration will resume in November, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia said Thursday.

In a media interview, Garcia said the voter registration will be from the last week of November this year until the last week of May 2023.

The Comelec resumed the registration of voters after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed into law the bill suspending the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections, initially scheduled for December 2022.

The Comelec said it is looking into reactivating 5 million more regular and youth voters by the end of the registration program.

The rescheduled barangay and SK elections will be on the last Monday of October 2023 and will be held every three years after that.
