Tropical Depression Neneng is here – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The tropical depression approaching extreme northern Luzon has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and is now called Neneng, state meteorologists said on Thursday afternoon.
“The Tropical Depression east of Northern Luzon entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 12:00 noon today (Thursday) and was given the domestic name #NenengPH,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in a weather bulletin issued at 4 p.m.

Pagasa said Neneng was about 1,050 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 70 kph.
The state weather service earlier said it expects Neneng – the 14th tropical cyclone to hit the Philippines this year – to reach the tropical storm category on Friday, October 14.
