Flood submerges houses, classrooms in Cagayan province

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Flood inundated several houses and classrooms as Tropical Depression Maymay on Tuesday, Oct. 11, dumped heavy rains in low-lying villages in Allacapan town, Cagayan province.

Allacapan Mayor Harry Florida said the flooded villages include Bessang, Centro East, Centro West, Daan-Ili, Pacac, and Labben.

Florida said they have started distributing relief goods to the affected residents.

Erick John Ganaden, Allacapan disaster risk reduction, and management officer, said they brought a family to an evacuation center.

The flooding also rendered the Binubongan-Dalayap bridge and Bulo-Gagaddangan road impassable, Ganaden added. INQ
