Nigerian, accomplice face raps for P400,000 ‘romance scam’

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Policemen arrested 13 persons engaged in illegal gambling in Bamban and Camiling towns in Tarlac province.

In an Oct 11 statement, the Tarlac police said they confiscated mahjong tiles, Spanish “cuajo” playing cards, and P25,000 in bet money from the suspects.

They will be charged of violating the anti-illegal gambling law.

The Tarlac police said they arrested 45 others in a week-long anti-crime campaign.

It said 26 of the arrested were subjects of warrants; eight were caught in anti-illegal drug operations, and 11 were apprehended from distress calls.

Of 58 people arrested, 26 have outstanding warrants, 13 for illegal gambling, eight for illegal drugs, and 11 during police responses. INQ
