2 alleged NPA rebels yield in Batangas
LUCENA CITY — Two alleged New People’s Army (NPA) rebels surrendered Tuesday to a military unit in Taysan town in Batangas province.
The Philippine Army’s 59th Infantry Battalion said on its Facebook page that the rebels surrendered to their command post in Barangay San Marcelino.
The former rebels had no firearms when they surrendered.
The military said the rebels operated in Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, and Aurora provinces.
The Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program will assist the former rebels with free medical treatments, education, housing, and legal aid.
