MANILA, Philippines—Private and public schools suspended classes in some areas on Tuesday (Oct. 11) in preparation for Tropical Depression Maymay.
Classes in all levels had been suspended in these areas in Cagayan region:
- Aparri
- Lal-lo
- Buguey
- Camalaniugan
- Sanchez Mira
- Allacapan
- Sto. Niño
- Gattaran
- Claveria (Public schools only)
Classes in select levels had also been suspended in these Cagayan areas:
- Ballesteros (Preschool to senior high school)
- Gonzaga (Preschool to senior high school)
- Pamplona (Preschool to elementary school)
- Alcala (Nursery to kinder)
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) raised Signal No. 1 in the provinces of Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija and Quezon (General Nakar and Infanta) and Polillo Islands.
Maymay is expected to make landfall on Wednesday, said Pagasa.
