COTABATO CITY, Maguindanao del Norte, Philippines — The police leadership of Soccsksargen region has ordered a “deeper probe” into the killing of two women in Mlang town, Cotabato province on Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Jamili Macaraeg, chief of the Soccsksargen Police Regional Office, told Lt. Col. Realan Mamon, Mlang police chief, to spare no opportunity to dig deep into the crime in order to bring the perpetrators before the bar of justice.
Mamon identified the fatalities as Althea Luceno, 22, and her aunt, Tisay Beltran, 35, both residents of Barangay Tawan-Tawan.
Mamon said the victims sustained wounds and died on the spot in the 9 p.m. attack on Thursday.
Three others were wounded in the attack, although their names were not yet released by the police.
“No forcible entry was reported and it indicates the suspects could be known to the victims,” Mamon said.
