P1-M meth, firearm seized from 7 suspects in Calabarzon

Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested seven drug suspects on Thursday and Friday (Oct. 6 and 7) and seized more than P1-million worth of "shabu" (crystal meth) and a high-powered firearm in Laguna, Rizal and Quezon provinces.

LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested seven drug suspects on Thursday and Friday (Oct. 6 and 7) and seized more than P1-million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and a high-powered firearm in Laguna, Rizal and Quezon provinces.

According to the Police Regional Office 4A , a team from the San Pedro, Laguna police drug enforcement unit nabbed Ian Carlo Reojano during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Langgam at 11:19 p.m. on Thursday.

The suspect yielded seven sachets of shabu weighing 60 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P408,000.

In a follow-up operation, San Pedro police also collared Marisol Barrameda and Michael Blancia in another drug sting in Barangay Landayan.

Authorities seized four sachets of meth with a DDB value of P82,000 from the suspects.

In San Mateo, Rizal, anti-illegal drug operatives busted Jay Ar Simborio and Geovannie Soliguen in Barangay Banaba around 3:45 a.m. Friday.

The police found them carrying 14 sachets of shabu weighing 58 grams worth P394,400 as per DDB valuation.

The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.

Meanwhile, in a report, Col. Ledon Monte, Quezon province police chief, said anti-narcotics agents arrested alleged drug pusher Jayson Canales in Barangay Ibabang Iyam in Lucena City at 1:28 a.m. Friday.

Confiscated from the suspect were two sachets of shabu with a DDB value of P115,000.

In Atimonan town, a suspected drug pusher, Gerry Arnedo, was found with an undocumented M16 rifle and 25 bullets when policemen armed with a search warrant swooped down on his house in Barangay Tinandog at 4:46 p.m.

The suspect also yielded P17,408 worth of shabu and drug-sniffing paraphernalia.

All suspects are under police custody and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Arnedo will face another case for illegal possession of a firearm.
